The Senior Accounting Manager position will assist overseeing the accounting and finance for various related accounts with The Commonwealth Companies.
This position will also have responsibility for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, compiling, and submitting invoices for payment, and ensuring that project billings are reimbursed, and payments collected timely.
Also, this position will assist with month-end accounting processes for the corporate entity as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Monthly responsibility for account reconciliations and accruals, as well as compiling accurate financial statements for multiple related party companies.
- Assist with payables including cutting checks and making wire transfers.
- Provide data to budget and forecast to appropriate team members.
- Complete various ad-hoc projects and analysis at the request of upper management and / or Principals
- Actively seek process improvement ideas and implement changes to enhance the accounting processes currently in place.
- The ideal candidate will possess the ability to process large amounts of information accurately and within deadlines. They will be detail oriented, have strong computer experience and be able to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
Background with QuickBooks and CorPay a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Public accounting background or CPA designation preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in fast paced accounting environment
- Tax Credit experience, preferred.
- Strong computer experience. Background with QuickBooks, Sage, and CorPay is preferred.
- Previous experience in accounting for architectural services, construction, or real estate development is preferred, but not required.
