The Psychiatrist coordinates decision-making processes in assessing, diagnosing, and managing the medication of psychiatric patients.
Working collaboratively with a diverse team, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, mental health technicians, social workers, therapists, and educators, the Psychiatrist conducts clinical assessments and crafts treatment plans to ensure safe, therapeutic, and competent patient care.
The Psychiatrist is responsible for :
- Conduct timely and comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for both adult and adolescent patients upon admission.
- Develop treatment plans addressing cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders.
- Utilize psychotherapeutic methods and medications to provide effective patient treatment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to maintain an interdisciplinary approach to treatment.
- Enforce policies, procedures, and legal regulations to ensure quality and safe patient service, adhering to CMS and Joint Commission standards and state and legal regulations.
- Participate in emergency consultations.
- Provide oversight of Nurse Practitioners and ongoing training to enhance staff competence.
- Prescribe pharmacologic interventions as necessary, considering the unique needs of adult and adolescent patients.
- Review and sign applicable laboratory and diagnostic test results.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and stakeholders, fostering a person-centered approach.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records, adhering to hospital standards.
- Support hospital-wide quality and performance improvement goals and objectives.
Your Experience Matters What we're looking for :
Education & Licensure : MD / DO Degree from an Accredited University. Physician licensed to practice under Chapter 18.
71 RCW, Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
- Experience : Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting
- Additional Prerequisites : CPR Certification. Completion of CPI training within 30 days of employment.
Additional Skill Requirement s :
- Understanding and adherence to organizational Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of code procedures.
- Knowledge of psychiatric and medical procedures.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential.
- Detail-oriented with effective time management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with a high degree of drive, initiative, forward-thinking, and follow-through.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.
