The Lab Technician role is responsible for assignments related to the day to day performance of the material testing laboratory (including mortar testing) in a manner that results in high quality products according to established standard tests required for research, development, quality control and / or technical service.

Essential Functions of the job :

• Prepares / processes materials samples including : Active involvement in standard and exploratory experiment design,Routine laboratory activity to make or prep materials and test samples,Development work with non-routine R&D assignments such as design of fixtures for experimental set-up and establishing proper data acquisition
• Collects and reports scientific & engineering data obtained from laboratory equipment through an effective plan / coordination and maintains laboratory notebook
• Maintain laboratories and equipment including set-up, operation and trouble shooting of experimental equipment or instruments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ year's experience in lab work and chemical handling; routine laboratory activity to make or prep materials and test samples

PREFERRED QULIFICATIONS :

• Associates degree in engineering, technical or science related field
• Mechanical aptitude
• 2+ year's construction experience
