Are you a creative, motivated, strategy-driven individual passionate about marketing with superior networking skills? We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Community Engagement and Event Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will develop strategic partnerships within the community, and coordinate all aspects of live and online events, from pre-planning to post-event activities.

The Community Engagement and Event Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of events, creating memorable experiences for attendees, and promoting our events for maximum interest.

This hybrid position will work closely with other firm personnel, community stakeholders, and potential clients to plan events for the firm.

Key competencies include strong communication, written and creative skills, attention to detail, prioritization, and an understanding of the local community and our marketing plan.

Creating strategic community partnerships with other organizations that serve our target audience to arrange on-site learning events at the partner's facility.

Learning about the value the firm provides its clients and developing talking points to open and maintain relationships with community partners.

  • Utilizing memberships with local networking memberships (e.g., local chambers of commerce) and reaching out directly to make connections with strategic partners.
  • Oversee all on-site logistics during events, including registration, guest services, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  • Assist with check-in and check-out during on-site / off-site events
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure everyone is aligned with event goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate with speakers, presenters, entertainment, and external partners / vendors to ensure they are well-prepared and have the necessary resources.
  • Assess event plans and strategies in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives and provide feedback to the leadership team.
  • Understand and manage budgets for events, ensuring that expenses stay within allocated limits set by the Client Acquisition Director.
  • Work with the Client Acquisition Director to analyze key performance indicators and use the insights to improve future events.
  • Make phone calls to event registrants as soon after registration as possible to introduce them to the firm and confirm their attendance.
  • Assist the Marketing team when needed with getting marketing materials printed, picking them up from vendors, mailing materials, and delivering or posting materials at local venues.
  • Participate in and assist with the coordination of promotional activities for the firm's continuity membership program.
  • Taking pictures, videos, and client testimonials, and posting assets as Social Media content highlighting the fun and interactivity of these e vents.

Education / Experience / Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a related marketing or event planning field or completed a B.A. degree in Marketing, Communications, or other related field
  • Proven work experience in a marketing role, preferably in the Real Estate, Education, Law, or similar field event space
  • Proven experience working with managers to set objective Key Performance Indicator targets, planning toward achieving metrics, working the plan with respect to targets, tracking progress, meeting targets and improving performance consistently for months at a time
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's license.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible with changing directions and deadlines
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Strong attention to detail, including grammar and spelling
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated

If you move to the interview stage, you will be asked to share recap reports from previous events you've supervised and implemented.
