General Manager - Fine Dining
An Asian fusion fine dining restaurant is seeking a General Manager.
GM will help drive restaurant operation managing projects, and actively sharing feedback. This is the perfect role for someone who can work in a fast paced environment while still managing daily tasks.
Operations :
- Opens or closes, completes opening and closing checklist as applicable.
- Manages hourly employees in their daily responsibilities, providing clear, effective directions.
- Prepares staff schedule.
- Able to perform all POS functions, including opening and closing procedures, comps, voids, transfers, back office administration (employee creation, menu management etc).
- Plans, executes, and communicates all promotions and information effectively and efficiently.
Staff Management :
- Hire, train, supervise, manage, coach, counsel, and evaluate employees.
- Acts as role model for outstanding service, continuously works to elevate service & food standards, and personality embodies hospitality in daily actions.
- Resolves team member or guest conflicts through company compliant handling procedure.
- Collaborate with owner to make postings for open positions and interview candidates.
- Identifiers staffing, recruiting, hiring and training needs of qualified candidates. Facilitate on-going training and development of current staff.
Coach and counsel members for improved performance, documenting developmental plans as necessary.
Builds morale and team spirit by fostering a work environment where team members input is encourages.
Essential Function :
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Have good knowledge of the bar ( including liquors and wines)
- Have previous experience working as GM in fine dining restaurants
- Demonstrates positive leadership characteristics which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards.
- Communicate information effectively and efficiently. FOH, BOH.
- Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and a variable schedule, per the needs of the business.
- Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintaining professionalism when working under stress.
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Senior Level Leadership.
- Adhere to all HR policies & procedures.
Education Requirements :
- Holds NY Department of Heath & Mental Hygiene Food Protection Certificate.
