Position Information Posting Number : 0601109-NC Position Type : Faculty Pools Position Title : Agriculture Program Faculty, Part-Time (pool) Employment Requirement Not Applicable Division / Department : Agricultural Sciences Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary : The Agriculture Department at LBCC offers a wide range of courses including Computers in Agriculture, Forage Crops, Marketing in Agriculture, Management in Agriculture, Soils (CSS) and many more.
The faculty member develops, plans, and presents organized lectures, laboratory activities, and out of class assignments in accordance with approved course outlines.
Required Qualifications : 27 graduate quarter hours in Agriculture or a related field Preferred Qualifications : Prefer Master’s degree in Agriculture or a related field.
Teaching experience in a community college or university setting is preferred. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions : Requires the ability to work with staff and students.
Work is performed indoors, outdoors and in outdoor structures (horse barns) in a farm setting with exposure to inclement weather.
Some exposure to safety or health hazards (equipment noise, odor, manure, blood and fluids, farm chemicals).
Essential Duties : Applicants must possess a combination of academic preparation and professional experience that demonstrates the ability to :
1. Imparts excitement and enthusiasm into the teaching of agriculture.
2. Develops course schedules and syllabi.
3. Plans, develops, and delivers classroom lectures and activities as well as write tests and develops other methods to evaluate student progress and competence.
4. Develops or adapts laboratory exercises students will find engaging and relevant.
5. Assures lab equipment is properly used and verifies all equipment is present at the end of each laboratory section.
6. Works effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages and successfully interacts with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.
7. Communicates effectively in oral and written English.
8. Keeps accurate grade and attendance records.
