Maintenance Technician

Position Summary :
The maintenance technician is responsible for a wide range of duties including but not limited to : general maintenance, labor, electrical helper, inspecting dust systems keeping schedule of maintenance, conveyor belts inspecting / adjusting / greasing, assisting with machine repairs on more complex CNC machines, keeping PM records of all machinery that is needed, minor welding / fabrication, pneumatics-repairing leaks / damaged fittings, hydraulics-replacing damaged valves and / or hoses, knowledge / experience with PLC’s and machine repair / installation.
Major Accountabilities / Critical Responsibilities :
Accountabilities / responsibilities in order of importance or amount of time spent on the responsibilities.
Maintain facility to be production ready, by keeping records of dust system’s PM, wood grinder PM, conveyor belt’s PM, lighting / electrical inspections, ETC.
Complete daily assignments, having work orders signed off by supervisor as being completed. PC experience with creating spreadsheets in excel
Inspect dust collection system daily with a more thorough inspection performed weekly. Check for proper operation of all components located on the ground and on the bag house / dust trailers.
Replace belts as needed and complete general cleaning outside around dust system.
- Monitor air compressors, lines, traps, condensate return pumps and holding tanks throughout the plant for normal operation.
- Equipment installation.
- May perform other duties / special or non-routine assignments as instructed by supervisor.
Knowledge & Abilities :
- Ability to read and follow directions (verbal and written). May require basic math skills : counting, adding, subtracting.
- Requires clerical skills : answering phone, data entry, filing, photocopying, computer.
