Our client is looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join their Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.
Your Responsibilities
Design and analyze complex electro-mechanical components and systems using engineering expertise. Conduct studies and testing on new and modified designs.
Direct others in the development of design information for use in reports, specifications, and drawings. Serve as a leader for technical teams.
Provides guidance and expertise in electrical engineering to design complex rotating equipment and systems and to investigate, evaluate and develop new applications for existing equipment and systems.
Your Challenge : Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, and interprets results. Conducts analyses and writes analysis and test reports using engineering expertise.
Capable of driving for solutions in the face of ambiguity. Determines theoretical principles involved and applying advanced analytical and investigative methods and techniques.
Develop Direct and Quadrature circuits for electric motors, generators, and exciters. Conduct Direct and Quadrature analysis of motors, generators, and exciters.
Perform transient simulation of electric motors, generators, exciters, rectifiers, and controls. Plans and coordinates the execution of complex engineering solutions including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical presentations.
Analyzes assigned tasks to provide estimates of manpower and material required to complete. Prepares schedules for accomplishing tasks within estimates.
Perform high level electrical analysis of transformers, rod position indicators, and other electromagnetic. Interface with and interact with peers performing EM finite element calculations on motors, generators, exciters, transformers, and other electromagnetic devices.
Designs new equipment and machinery as conceived to support program and project needs. Oversees the building, installing, debugging, and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities.
Determines technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems. Acts as technical expert for failure investigations, root cause analyses, and design reviews.
Leads technical teams in design and analytical activities for product design and development and production. Mentors less experienced engineers and is involved in development of their skills.
Master useful understanding and apply engineering software tools and systems. What you Bring : Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required, Masters preferred.
PhD a plus 15+ years’ experience in Electrical Engineering with a transient simulation skill set. Working knowledge of one or more of the following : 2D / 3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Simulink, Flux2D), Acoustics, Thermal Analysis Experience in Direct and Quadrature circuit development and analysis of electric motors, generators, and exciters.
Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews. Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities.
Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite. Ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
