Overview : The Staff Network Engineer - Cloud position will focus on defining, implementing, and enforcing governance and standards for Inovalon's commercial cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, Snowflake Avoatrix.

This role requires good understanding of Network, Gateway and Firewall infrastructure, virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.

The right candidate will have proven experience in commercial on prem and cloud Network design, DevOps, and the knowledge and interpersonal skills to help guide teams to improving their site-reliability.

This position will split time between developing commercial cloud governance and standards, defining and implementing platform-level features, and supporting application engineering teams with application design and implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Assumes responsibility for defining, implementing, and enforcing governance and standards for commercial cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, and Snowflake.
• Applies commercial cloud best practices to design, develop, and implement AWS, Azure and GCP platform-level features.
• Deisign build and administration of ASA FTD firewalls as well as on Prem ACI infrastrure.
• Discover, review, and influence new and evolving design, architecture, and standards for building and delivering unique cloud-based infrastructure, applications and services.
• Collaborate with application engineering teams to create, monitor, and troubleshoot system infrastructure.
• Be an expert in service reliability, sustainability, and efficiency. Collaborate with product, application engineering, and security teams to ensure solutions realize non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, maintainability, and cost-efficiency.
• Investigate, design, and implement best-in-industry, innovative technologies that will expand Inovalon's infrastructure through robust, scalable, adrenaline-fueled solutions;
• Champion the enterprise infrastructure vision and strategy;
• Be the expert in service reliability and sustainability;
• Develop and execute designs for complex systems backed by excellence, confidence, and thorough engineering analysis;
• Develop, gather, and leverage metrics to manage the Network and Firewall infrastructure to drive automation, improvement, and performance; and.
• Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement.;
• Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.;
• Fulfill those responsibilities and / or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.;
• Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function; and.

Job Requirements :

• Minimum of 10+ years experience as a Network Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, services, and infrastructure operations of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, or Snowflake.
• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure as code automation and continuous integration / delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Terraform, or similar.
• Scripting experience with Terraform, Linux Shell, PowerShell, Python, or others.
• You are driven to solve difficult problems with scalable, elegant, and maintainable solutions.;
• Expert troubleshooter - unwilling to let a problem defeat you; unrelenting, persistent, confident.;
• A penchant for thinking outside the box to solve complex and interesting problems.
• Impeccable creative and communication skills. ;
• 8+ years of experience with Networking, complex computing platforms, and / or cutting-edge technologies involving virtualization, distribution, and high performance Networks;
• Extensive knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and infrastructure operations;
• Manage stressful situations with calm, courtesy, and confidence; and.
• Extensive scripting experience strongly desired.

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , technical field, or equivalent experience .

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

• Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time);
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force;
• Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
• Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
• Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge / skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range

$128,600 $170,000 USD
