We are seeking a Systems Administrator III to perform system administration and integration support for our partners at the National Institute of Health (NIH).

As a Systems Administrator III you will work alongside a team of administrators and researchers to provide full life cycle maintenance and administration over multiple converged systems across multiple locations.

Superior virtualization knowledge with a strong background in data storage and backup solutions is necessary to continue pushing the solution to the next level and help make research data actionable.

This is a full-time, hybrid onsite / remote position in Bethesda, MD. Travel will be required to Bethesda, MD and Phoenix, AZ on a as needed basis.

Job Duties :

  • Oversee data center operations and administrations of servers and NAS storage systems; Configure, manage, troubleshoot, and ensure availability of systems as per industry standards
  • Be proficient in developing and maintaining superior technical documentation
  • Manage Active Directory accounts, privileges and network access daily using IAM and ADM system management tools
  • Manage Deployed NetZoom data center infrastructure management (DCIM) to easily manage asset inventory of power and cooling devices (, racks, patch panels, servers, virtual servers, switches, and routers)
  • Administer and manage Quantum DXI disk-based storage for NetBackup
  • Implement and administer network print servers, and setup print queues on user desktops
  • Plan, install, and administer data protection solutions. Install and administer Microsoft Web servers and SQL database servers;

Collaborate with web development team to manage intranet and internet sites

  • Conduct security patch management of servers which included identifying required Windows Microsoft updates and non-Microsoft patches, deploying relevant patches, hotfixes, security updates, and generating patch reports to management
  • Review IT System Syslog’s and assess critical events to remediate vulnerabilities
  • Evaluate specifications and features of Nutanix support for all enterprise workloads
  • Possess experience in planning installation, and configuration of Nutanix clusters
  • Be capable to administer -node Prism Central appliances at multiple sites
  • Be capable to administer Nutanix Leap Disaster Recovery (DR) solution
  • Plan and execute Nutanix LCM security updates, that includes firmware and software; Manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements
  • Oversee the administration of the NetApp storage clusters
  • Manage NetApp Snap Mirror and Snap Vault nodes
  • Execute NetApp SVM Disaster Recovery operations to failover procedures

Education and Experience :

  • Must be able to obtain a US Public Trust clearance
  • Active CompTIA Security + Certification w / Continuing Education Enrollment desired
  • years IT industry experience necessary
  • years of experience in ESXi administration necessary
  • years of Nutanix hardware / software or equivalent experience is required
  • years of experience working with Microsoft Windows Server or higher
  • years of NetApp, Isilon, or equivalent administration experience necessary
  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of networking protocols and best practices desired
  • Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI) or higher certification desired
  • NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) certification or higher desired

Final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, certifications and / or experience.

Hiring at the maximum range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued compensation growth.
