The Warehouse-Distribution Manager is responsible for leading a team charged with safely managing receiving, shipping, storing, put-away and inventory activities for a multi-site operation.

The qualified individual will encompass an understanding of food manufacturing operations in a multi-temperature environment and be the subject matter expert for storage and distribution practices for these locations.

This role will be expected to create and maintain operations consistent with Monogram’s budgeting process and utilize metrics to deploy a continuous improvement culture.

This position reports to the Sr. Director of Warehousing and is responsible for leading a team of 3-5 direct reports and roughly 40 indirect reports.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following :

  • Responsible for the receiving, put-away and shipping activities in internal and external warehousing operations.
  • Collaborate with supply chain procurement and planning colleagues to identify future storage needs
  • Promote and enforce a process-honoring culture while creating a safe work environment.
  • Build, develop and lead a world-class team of distribution associates.
  • Manage and build continuous improvement relationships with external, multi-temperature 3rd party warehousing partners.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to plan future storage requirements based on business growth to accommodate incremental and long-term storage needs.
  • Learn, utilize, and teach associates prevailing EPR / WMS / IMS tools.
  • Develop sourcing strategies in conjunction with Procurement for forklifts, racking, docks, and other applicable equipment within warehouse operations.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Transportation, and multiple other functions to exceed customer service metrics.
  • Ensure warehouse operations meet food safety standards and will consistently exceed expectations with external food safety audits.
  • Initiate and manage inventory cycle counting programs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance.
  • Create and measure KPI metrics for both behavior and performance accountability.
  • Develop, document, and implement SOP’s for warehouse related activities.

  • Must be 18 and older.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or other related fields of study. Equivalent extensive warehousing and logistics experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing internal / external warehousing operations in a multi-temperature food industry environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various supply chain processes and procedures.
  • Previous experience working with a Warehouse Management System or Warehouse Control System.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Software Suite and D365 ERP a plus.
  • Experience setting up or progressively altering an existing warehouse’s layout a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and capable of problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience reengineering business processes.

  • Able to see the bigger picture and work collaboratively with other business partners to accomplish the common goal.
  • Proficient with WMS / IMS, MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel preferred, Power BI desirable) and ERP systems (MS D365 preferred).
  • Additional experience / training in process improvement (Six Sigma or other technique), critical problem solving, and project management desired.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
