The Project Manager must be familiar with budgetary controls and the impact of activities at the project level on business results.

Effective communication and coordination across internal functions, to include subcontractors, is critical to ensure a successful project.

Key Responsibilities

• Summarizing project status to project stakeholders.
• Manage project resources across multiple projects or project phases.
• Present project information to project team.
• Communicate project status to project team.
• Facilitating project status meetings and communicating project status to key project stakeholders.
• Resolve project issues and manage project risks.
• Manage project budget and project resource allocation.
• Manage project timelines using accepted project management methodology.
• Serve as project lead on projects with multiple project management staff.
• Meet project objectives while managing project hours.
• Validating project budget against estimated project costs.
• Project Charter - Project Schedule Project Budget - Communication Plan - Project Status Report - Risk and Issue Management Plans - Change Requests - Project Closedown Summary.
• Responsible for reviewing and understanding vendor contracts to actively manage the vendor deliverables and adherence to the vendor deliverable approval procedures.
• Prepare project plans, manage and track project execution activities for project teams.
• Achieve project objectives across the project portfolio.
• Monitor project execution / performance, project reporting and project resource allocations.
• Create project briefs and project schedules.
• Support defined project plans and project goals.
• Updating internal project management system.
• Complete project deliverables in accordance with project plan.
• Lead the project team to ensure project objectives.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Education, Experience, & Skills :

• External Candidates should have six years of experience as a Superintendent or PM. PMP certification is valued but not required for this position.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Have the ability to multitask, and have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with scheduling, planning and work sequencing.
• Earned Value Management experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills :

• Familiarity with marine engineering and shipboard equipment and systems.
• Working knowledge, understanding and experience with work specifications, diagrams, blueprints, drawings, test procedures, NAVSEA Standard Items and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of Shipboard Tag-Out Procedures and Government Work Authorization Form (WAF) controls.
