GENERAL SUMMARY :
Prepare castings and test materials for shipment to customers. Assure that quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, I.D.
markings, piece counts, and all necessary inspection documents, test bars, x-ray film, packing slips, etc. are correct and complete per PCC and customer specifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Complete, check, understand, and verify that all necessary paperwork is correct and complete.
- Verify that contents of all deliveries and shipments are complete per shipping and inspection documents, and are delivered to proper departments.
- Mark identifications on all parts per work instructions; Ink, Electro Etch, Vibropeen, or Bag & Tag.
- Package castings per customer requirements, to prevent damage. Use appropriate packaging materials, and determine best packing methods.
- Pull, ship and store all testing materials at essential times.
- Stage and warehouse orders awaiting shipment; organize shipping area; operate forklift to move parts.
- Notify carriers for shipping pickups; arrange for rush shipments and special shipping arrangements when needed.
- Ship parts to vendors as requested; mail items via UPS / FEDX as requested, completing all necessary paperwork.
- Load and unload trailers; stock materials and supplies for shipping and marking parts.
- Adhere to plant and department safety rules. Safely operate all equipment and tools.
- Perform general departmental cleaning.
- Perform other tasks as directed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
- Ability to learn new skills, cross-train and be flexible in day to day activities.
- Ability to pay attention and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
- Must possess strong organizational skills with ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to proactively seek out and plan for future shipping requirements.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work overtime if needed.
- Ability to learn computer skills involving MS Word, UPS software, and Visibility.
- Ability to complete Forklift Safety Certification Training.
- Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner; adhere to safety rules.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to co-workers and supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic math and communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to read, write, stand, climb, stoop and reach to perform job functions. Ability to lift and or maneuver objects weighing up to thirty-five pounds.
Ability to use computers and office machines. Ability to follow written and oral instruction. Ability to work in conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and varying temperatures.
