As a member of the School of Social Sciences, the incumbent is tasked with upholding and exemplifying excellence in the University's core competencies job mastery, goal accomplishment, enterprise contribution and innovation while representing the Director, Associate Dean and School to the campus.

  • As Analyst of this robust and influential unit, responsibilities include : payroll entry, budget and financial analysis relevant to UC graduate programs;
  • maintenance and management of graduate data tracking programs, student health and psychological support systems; housing and student life programs;
  • advanced degree program implementation and analysis; application and admissions processes; union implications relevant to student employment;

administration of financial support models (teaching assistant / associate, research appointments, scholarship and fellowship, etc.

employment and salary administration, graduate student management and recruitment and customer service pertaining to daily administrative operations in the Graduate Affairs office.

This position is eligible for hybrid / remote work. Compensation Range : Hourly : $21.31 - $31.13 Department Website : https : / / www.

socsci.uci.edu / Required : BA / BS degree and / or 3-5 years of applicable University experience.Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking.Ability to multi-task; verbal and written communication skills.

Experience and demonstrated ability to utilize Excel and other spreadsheet / database programs and systems.Multicultural competencies : ability to work with diverse populations.

Ability in problem identification and reasoning.Proven interpersonal skills.Superior ability to diplomatically communicate, articulate and work effectively with a diverse population.

Preferred : Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.Understanding of University rules and regulations.Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs (UC PATH, SLATE, etc.

and pertinent databases.Basic knowledge of student immigration and visa processes pertaining to international students and scholars.

Final candidate subject to background check. As a federal contractor, UC Irvine is required to use E-Verify to confirm the work status of individuals assigned to perform substantial work under certain federal contracts / subcontracts.
