Marketing Proofreader (B2C)

$20-25 / hr Weekly Pay + benefits
We are seeking a Proofreader to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and clarity of written content across our 4 brands on both print and digital platforms including : manuals, app content, recipe books, blogs, paid ads, video assets, and website copy.
This role sits within the Content Writing team, allowing you to collaborate with Copywriters, Technical Writers, and Copy Editors to maintain copy standards, refine content, and uphold each brand voice.
With a diverse range of copy and content to oversee, this Proofreader must be able to work effectively and quickly to meet tight deadlines.
Responsibilities :
Review and proofread various types of content, product listings, website copy, emails, blogs, video scripts, user manuals, print materials (e.
g., recipe books), packaging, social media, visual assets
- Correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors
- Ensure consistency in style, tone, and formatting according to company guidelines
- Verify facts, figures, and dates for accuracy
- Collaborate with writers and editors to clarify any ambiguities and resolve inconsistencies.
- Ensure all content adheres to the style guide
- Assist in the development of content policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to copyright laws and ethical guidelines in all published material
- Maintain attention to details in a fast-paced environment to ensure no grammatical errors are made, or consumer usability is compromised
- Work on other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Strong command of English language and grammar
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Editing and strong writing skills, yet flexibility to accommodate both creative and technical styles, print and digital platforms
- Proficiency in using editing tools and style guides (e.g., AP Stylebook, Chicago Manual of Style).
- Ability to thrive in fast and diverse work environment with multiple high priority projects
- Experience with consumer goods, electronics, home appliances, apps, and / or smart devices is a plus
- Exposure to technical writing is a plus but not necessary
- Strong attention to detail
