Standards of Performance and Goals :
Under the guidance of the IT Manager, the Senior Systems Engineer will focus on Identifying, designing and implementing technical solutions that enhance the Credit Union's IT infrastructure.
The role involves driving automation, system efficiency, understanding business needs and modernization efforts while ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
The Senior Systems Engineer will also lead disaster recovery exercises, implement redundancy strategies and support business continuity to minimize downtime.
Additionally, they will mentor junior staff, document procedures and provide guidance on technology decisions regarding infrastructure design, security and compliance.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Seven to ten years of experience in systems engineering or solutions architecture, including infrastructure design and implementation.
- Five plus years of experience in senior technical roles with a focus on disaster recovery and redundancy planning.
- Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware Cloud Director, and related technologies.
- Expertise with disaster recovery planning, high-availability solutions, and redundancy design.
- Strong knowledge of automation tools for infrastructure management.
- Ability to manage, coordinate and organize date more typically with a multitude of vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapts to changing environments, and remain effective in dynamic situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible work hours, including rotating on-call responsibilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
