Lead Estimator, Purchasing, and Receiving (Residential Construction)

• Salary : $55,000-$75,000 Annually
• Job Type : Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• In-office with occasional vendor and site visits (on and off-site)

Who We Are Looking For?

We are looking for an Estimator who thrives on accuracy, detail, and problem-solving to join our team! You will be responsible for estimating and preparing accurate cost proposals by preparing accurate material take-offs, acquiring pricing from subcontractors and vendors, and writing detailed and accurate scopes of work.

As Purchasing, you will obtain detailed material quotes to prepare for ordering, prepare POs for trade labor, and place material orders as needed.

Qualifications :

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, structural, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical design concepts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Products.
• Experience with cost estimating tools and software such as PlanSwift is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Self-Directed and results-driven.
• High level of accuracy and detail-oriented.
• Ability to recognize discrepancies and problem-solve.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
• Collaborates effectively with others (internal & external).

Responsibilities :

• Detailed material takeoffs.
• Timely prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Contract and specification writing.
• Acquire trade partner / vendor quotes and negotiate pricing to ensure competitive pricing.
• Prices and writes change orders.
• Participate in team meetings with various departments to provide cost-related input, purchase-related status, and handoffs.
• Vendor and Trade Partner database & relationship management.
• System development and improvement : Maintain and analyze material costs, labor rates, and historical project data to improve the estimating systems, master price lists, and specification standards.
• Purchasing and Receiving.

Your First 90 Days

All roles begin with a 90-day employment agreement. We start with this to confirm we’re a great fit for each other. Our onboarding period provides extensive training and feedback while you learn the ins and outs of the role.

At the end of 90 days, if we’re both feeling great about it, we’ll extend a new employment agreement for a permanent position on the team.
