How You'll Add Value The Licensed Electrician’s responsibilities include installing and servicing electrical systems, observing company safety guidelines, providing material cost and time estimates, and training other Electricians and Apprentices.
In this role, he or she should be able to diagnose electrical faults, read blueprints, use diagnostic tools, and make decisions under pressure.
This position reports directly to the General Superintendent. How You’ll Get It Done Comply with all OSHA and Site Specific safety standards.
Read blueprints, run conduit, wire devices, troubleshoot, and perform quality control testing. Read and interpret mechanical, architectural and electrical drawings and code specifications for determining wiring layouts.
Troubleshoot, test and repair emergency generators and various electrical systems and power distribution systems to ensure that they are working properly.
Perform upgrades or preventive maintenance to electrical control systems or remodeling residential projects. Run tests, isolate problems, replace damaged section of wiring, lay conduit, and perform other tasks as required.
Collaborate with team members in estimating and scheduling efforts. Order and maintain an inventory of supplies. Train general Electricians and Apprentices working on various projects.
Keep abreast of new technology, electrical services, and manufacturing processes. Perform physically demanding tasks like moving or lifting heavy objects, digging trenches for laying conduit.
What You're Bringing to the Table Rhode Island State License is required. OSHA 10 Certification is required. Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills Ability to work with a general contractor and other trades present on job Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of at least 50 lbs.
