SUMMARY : Assisting Maintenance Supervisor to replace or repair manufacturing equipment and tooling as needed; provide the building and the surroundings with maintenance as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Repairing and maintaining facilities and production equipment following manufacturer’s specifications.
• Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
• Interpreting hydraulic and electrical blueprints.
• Responsible for using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments to service and / or maintain equipment.
• Inspecting and measuring parts to detect wear on equipment.
• In charge of using gas, electrical, brazing, soldering, and welding equipment.
• Liable for snow and ice removal from facility parking lot and walkway area.
• Setting up and operating lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Working as part of a team in performing various maintenance projects.
• Assisting engineers to modify sketches or designs of facility equipment components.
• Testing facility equipment performance, cleaning, and lubricating parts.
• Installing facility equipment according to specifications.
• In charge of troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of using ladders, scissor lift / Sky-jack, electric and gas lifts.
• Responsible for rigging / setting up of large, heavy parts for processing.
• Assisting janitors with trash removal.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School degree or GED.
• Associate degree from an accredited college or comparable job experience, a plus.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience or trade school knowledge of HVAC or electrical work.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Welding skills a plus, not required.
• Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
• Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity.
• Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
• Groundskeeping if the facility contains lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or residents of the building in a pleasant manner.
• Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
• Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building.
• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
• Works well independently and with others.
• Good communication skills.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT :

• Following items are available as needed :
• Safety glasses are required in designated areas.
• Uniform / Jacket issued by the company must be worn in designated areas
• Which also may include Tyvek suits, Hard Hat, Gloves, Protective Eyewear, Safety Shoes, assigned Uniform, NFPA-70E equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers.

Must be able to speak and hear. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally sit, stoop and crouch.

Requires mental and visual attention to detail as well as hand coordination. Occasionally lifting or moving average weight material.

The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination or part-time normal and part-time concentrated attention and coordination.

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Employee must be able to read and interpret documents written in English. Employees must be able to have good communication with fellow employees, supervisors, and management.
