Position Information
Job Summary
Bushnell University's School of Nursing, located in Eugene, OR, invites application for the Simulation Technology and Nursing Learning Lab Specialist to provide technology expertise, instructional support, nursing clinical lab support, and advocacy in health care simulation for our Accelerated Bachelor of Science Nursing (ABSN) pre-licensure program.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
- Support daily operations of Simulation and Clinical Learning Lab
- Set-up and breakdown of equipment / supplies used
- Provide technical support to students and faculty during simulation
- Maintain simulation, task trainers, and all lab equipment
- Perform operational checks on equipment
- Update hardware / software as needed
- Troubleshoot technical issues as needed
- Ensure equipment security
- Manage simulation and lab supplies
- Perform inventory of supplies, track usage
- Assist with ordering of supplies as directed
- Support pre-simulation, simulation and post-simulation activities
- Provide theatrical support (including moulage and voice over)
- Provide feedback for improving simulation experience
- Salvage re-usable supplies and repackage as directed
- Collaborate with Faculty and Staff
- Assist with implementation of new technology
- Advise faculty of equipment failure and alternatives
- Maintain Simulation and lab documentation and resources
- Assist with development of simulation policies / procedures
- Participate in simulation lab tours as assigned
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Maintain professional development and certifications as required
- Promote marketing and growth of simulation capacity in collaboration with faculty
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualification Requirements :
- Associates (minimum) or Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Read, write and understand English to interpret and use manuals for Simulation manikins and equipment
- Experience with MS Office suite of products
- Experience or willingness to learn audio / visual capture software which integrates with medical technological platforms
- Actively engage in all aspects of manikin physiological delivery of simulations to include array of moulage (fake body fluids, wounds, etc.
along with creative ways to deliver a realistic learning experience using mid to high fidelity manikins
Knowledge of / Experience with :
Required : Experience or ability to learn, audio and visual editing, hardware, processing (deletion), and recording. Basic clerical skills (written / typing, MS Office, technical, telephone, verbal, email, etc.
Basic reading and comprehension. Basic familiarity with mechanical / electrical repairs (manikins) computer and / or A / V troubleshooting, internet use.
Computer security. Conflict management and critical thinking. Cultural sensitivity for diverse populations. Customer service skills.
Decision making. General lab safety. Good team working skills and able to work flexibly with direction from different personality types during a skills lab and / or Simulation (faculty).
Leadership skills. Inventory management. Willingness to learn basic Simulation programming. Knowledge of FERPA, Hazardous Waste, OSHA.
Organizational skills. Problem solving. Ability to multi-task and pre-prioritize quickly in a calm manner.
Preferred to include : Coursework in anatomy and physiology. Familiarity with electromechanical and pneumatic functions of Simulation equipment and devices.
Simulator software experience. Wireless networking. Medical terminology. Moulage experience.

- This position may require lifting up to 25 lbs, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling
