Summary / Objective

The qualified applicant will learn and perform all aspects of labor for new tower and communication site construction, concrete pad pier and mat foundation installation, electrical systems, radio equipment, generator installation, heavy equipment operation and grounding systems.

This position focuses on physical construction labor and general construction duties and practices.

Essential Functions

  • Work with basic hand tools and safety equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in the elements.
  • Ability to work as a part of a dynamic team.
  • Ability to take and understand written and verbal direction.
  • Ability to travel and work in remote locations outside of the metropolitan area.
  • Maintain OSHA safety requirements at all times.
  • Understanding and ability to process and read construction drawings.
  • Perform JSA, maintain team safety and ensure proper PPE is used.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Construction experience is desired.
  • Active participation in the construction process through construction completion, punch list and turn over in a timely and economical basis.
  • Direct participation in site construction activities including the delivery and use of materials, tools and equipment, the quality of construction, worker productivity and safety.
  • Perform various duties associated with construction and maintenance work including extensive general laboring responsibilities, operations of trenching equipment, concrete installation and underground pipe installation.
  • The position requires the applicant to work in various work environments including developed, undeveloped, and remote jobsite locations.
  • General knowledge of concrete placement and finishing. General knowledge and use of basic construction tools including reading tape measures.
  • Applicant shall perform tasks involving deployment and operation of materials-handling and construction equipment.
  • Ability to read, write and understand verbal direction and communication.

Work Environment

Be able to work in all weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme weather conditions.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

Labor, 40+hours per week

Travel

Travel is required approximately 75% of time.
