Summary :

Schedule and dispatch transporters for pickup and delivery of fuel products. Duties include using telephone and computer to transmit assignments and compiling statistics and reports.

Essential duties and responsibilities :

• Monitor personnel, equipment, and locations to coordinate service and schedules.
• Schedule or dispatch drivers to appropriate locations, according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
• Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories.
• Relay work orders, messages, or information to or from drivers, supervisors, or terminals, using telephones or email.
• Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, or requests for pickup and delivery.
• Prepare daily work and run schedules.
• Record and maintain files or records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, or other dispatch information.
• Receive or prepare work orders.
• Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required, according to work orders or specifications.
• Advise personnel about traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, or other hazards.
• Arrange for necessary repairs to restore service and schedules.
• Ensure timely and efficient movement of product, according to product orders and schedules.
• Order supplies or equipment and issue them to personnel.

Education and / or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Experience : 0 - 2 plus years of experience in oil industry
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office. Working knowledge of instant messaging (ICE) and GeoTab a plus

• Office environment : moderate and adjustable temperature and light; well ventilated; adequate space; ergonomic office furniture and up-to-date equipment
• Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm. May need to work occasional overtime or weekend hours as business dictates.
