Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Warehouse Specialist for an opportunity with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This program provides Chemical Management Services in support of DLA Aviation's retail industrial direct support of aircraft maintenance depot and production lines.

The Warehouse Specialist shall perform all aspects of warehousing and issuing material, preparation for disposal. The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.

Work involves most of the following : verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations;

storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.

This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

Note : Exclude workers whose primary duties involve shipping and receiving work (see Shipping / Receiving Clerk), order filling (see Order Filler), or operating forklifts (see Forklift Operator).

The Warehouse Specialist shall be responsible forccollecting, receiving, handling, transporting, processing, and preparing HM for storage and / or transporting.

Operates hand or powered trucks in performing warehousing duties. Loads and offloads transportation devices. Uses a Government HM Inventory and Environmental Management Application such as the Hazardous Materials Management System (HMMS), Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management Information System (EESOH-MIS), or Hazardous Materials Information Management System (HMIDS) and other Government Data Systems.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Six to twelve months job related experience and / or training is required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
• Ability to perform work in a safe manner to prevent loss or damage of equipment.
• Customer-oriented with ability to courteously and effectively work through difficult situations.
