Job Description

Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates for Mechanic Positions in Tuscumbia, AL for Heavy Truck and Heavy Equipment mechanics.

This job will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of asphalt equipment, construction equipment, and dump trucks.

The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating / cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry

Wages starting at $25.00 / hr. + for applicants with experience. Starting wages will be based on experience level.

Qualifications

Driver's license and Clean MVR is required. CDL License a plus.

Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.

Minimum of three years of experience working on construction equipment and on-road trucks.

Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.

Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.

Complete maintenance and work order repair records.

Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.

Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.

Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.

Ability to operate mobile equipment.

Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.

Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.

Weekend work / overtime may be required.

Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections preferred

Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.

Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet

Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.

Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.

35-hour Weather Guarantee after 30 days of employment, must be available to work 6 days during the seven-day work period.

Hours guaranteed; up to 35 hours (example : worked 20hrs, Actual Pay 35hrs; worked 38hrs, Actual Pay 38hrs). Weather pay is accrued on weekly accumulation, not hours per day.

Holiday pay counts toward the 35-hour guarantee.

Paid Holiday Shutdown period between Christmas and New Years in addition to 7 holidays throughout the year.

Paid vacation - Accrued during the first year starting at 180 days, 2 weeks at 1 year; 3 weeks at 5 years; 4 weeks at 20 years of service.

Annual performance-based merit increases.
