Supervisor Food & Beverage

TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is a private par-70, 7,107-yard championship golf course located in Potomac MD, just under 20 miles from the White House.

The Club has hosted over 20 championships for the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions and the Korn Ferry Tour since opening in 1986.

Following an historic renovation by PGA TOUR Design Services in 2008, TPC Potomac has earned a reputation as a formidable test for the world’s best players.

Assist with oversight and coordination of all aspects of the Food & Beverage operations. Responsibilities also include assigning work schedules and training staff in service standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent education, plus two to three additional years of hospitality management or equivalent experience
• Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices, state liquor and sanitation laws as applied to food and beverage service operational practices and procedures as would be acquired through at least three years of similar experience in progressively responsible positions
• Prior supervisory experience preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

• Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, new staff orientation, coaching, and performance reviews of the Food & Beverage staff
• Oversee the service staff, ensuring quantity levels of food and beverage products and maintain quality standards in production, services facilities, and to member / guest satisfaction.

Report deficiencies to supervisor

• May be involved in recommending staff schedule and supply requirements
• Assist with control of employee uniforms, ensuring that employees wear uniforms and name tags, that uniforms are kept clean and in proper condition, and are readily available at all times to employees
• Ensure quantity levels of food and beverage products and maintain quality standards in production, services facilities, and to member / guest satisfaction
• Monitor internal controls for food and beverage operations. Assume responsibility for and assist in the cleanliness and proper set up of on-course carts and food stations, notifying supervisor of equipment and maintenance issues
• Resolve any member / guest complaints immediately and professionally. Communicate all service issues to manager
• Ensure compliance with operating guidelines as it relates to the R.A.M. or Tips programs, as well as operating within all State and Federal laws, rules and regulations, relating to the Alcohol, Cigarette, and Tobacco Division
• Assume responsibility for and assist in the cleanliness and proper set up of on-course carts and food stations, notifying the Manager of equipment and maintenance issues.

Ensure all health codes are adhered to in accordance to all State and Federal laws, rules and regulations

Ensure and operate within all guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as set by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc.

and implement PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc. mandatory standards of operations as they relate to the food and beverage operations

Special projects or other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to both indoor and a variety of outdoor weather conditions.

Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and / or lift items with awkward weights.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
