The Opportunity

The Pricing & Underwriting Modernization Enablement team is seeking a Business Application Analyst (Intermediate Level) to join the team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize the Earnix tool for development of the future state rating and Underwriting engine for new and existing products.

You will provide analysis and business information related to specific business functions, processes, and applications / IT platforms.

You will work at a developing skill-level to create, implement, and maintain application solutions to meet the needs of a business or organization.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations : Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Plano, TX, San Antonio, TX, or Tampa, FL.

Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.

What you'll do :

Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and opportunities specifically related to application / IT platform solutions.

Provides analysis for planning and implementation of low to medium complexity systems and upgrades and process changes.

Reviews new or upgraded application functionality with business partners (including training) to help them prepare appropriate training and procedures updates for their teams.

Performs and coordinates business and application / IT platform support; analyzes discrepancies and system failures.

Facilitates and performs application / IT platform resolution activities to minimize business impact and avoid future exposure;

informs team leadership and business partners of business implications associated with those events and develops recommendations to mitigate future impact.

Maintains understanding of business processes, supporting applications / IT platform, and strategic direction.

Collaborates and exchanges information with team members, stakeholders, and information services to ensure dependencies, risks, and opportunities are identified.

Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have :

Bachelor's degree : OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

2 years’ work experience in analyzing IT business processes, software application / IT platform design and / or IT documentation, with an understanding of application / IT platform data systems and operations.

Developing knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

Successful completion of an analyst assessment may be required.

What sets you apart :

Rating system experience or strong programming skills (Python, R, VBA)

Experience implementing within the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)

Experience in iterative development using Agile principles.

P&C Insurance experience Pricing and / or Underwriting experience

Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Proven ability and desire to learn new technology and programming method.

Compensation : USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive.

You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

The salary range for this position is : $61,110 - $116,800 .

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
