We are growing our Transportation team and are looking for a Transportation Pricing Assistant to help calculate and analyze pricing for transportation opportunities in our pipeline.
This full-time position will report to the Director of Transportation. This position is based in the transportation office and will work 1st shift Monday-Friday, with some flexibility and option for a hybrid work from home / in office schedule.
May occasionally require work on weekends and holidays.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Gather and analyze transportation cost data from various sources.
- Monitor market trends and competitor pricing strategies.
- Maintain and update pricing databases to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in developing and implementing pricing models based on data analysis.
- Collaborate with the transportation pricing team to adjust pricing strategies in response to market changes.
- Evaluate the impact of pricing changes on profitability and competitiveness.
- Prepare regular reports on pricing trends, cost analyses, and performance metrics.
- Assist in the negotiation of transportation rates with carriers.
- Provide support for resolving pricing discrepancies and disputes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline pricing processes and improve efficiency.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry trends and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with pricing and revenue management software is highly desirable.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in pricing within the transportation or logistics industry.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS :
- Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
- Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
