Job Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for building and executing comprehensive marketing plans to 1) ensure current products meet established revenue and operating profit targets and, 2) focus on bringing future products and technologies to market to further advance Terumos market position and grow sales and operating profit.
This position is responsible for leading a team of marketing professionals responsible for the day to day aspects of product marketing.
Key to the success of the Marketing Manager is the ability to build successful partnerships with Sales, develop relationships with key opinion leaders and have the ability to modify strategies and tactics when necessary based on voice of customer and emerging market trends.
Ability to provide team leadership and motivation is paramount.
Job Details / Responsibilities
1. Responsible for developing marketing strategies and programs and modifying as necessary to ensure that revenue and operating profits meets or exceeds plan for assigned products.
2. Develop annual marketing and operational plans.
3. Working within the Strategic Planning framework and with the Strategic Marketing team, create and deliver the business Strat Plan effectively represent market dynamics and opportunities for the broader TIS business and providing future direction.
4. Analyze sales trends and results through effective forecasting techniques and work with manufacturing partners to ensure adequate product inventory is available to meet sales demand.
5. Oversee the development and introduction of promotional strategies, advertising campaigns, and sales materials; measure ROI and make adjustment to strategies as needed.
6. Represent marketing in partnerships with New Product Development to successfully identify new portfolio opportunities that contribute to the overall success of the business.
7. With team, develop new product launch plans and strategies and oversee their execution.
8. Appropriately manage assigned marketing budget focusing on efforts with the greatest ROI.
9. Ensure alignment across key stakeholders including the field sales force.
10. Foster positive relationships with key opinion leaders; be the business expert.

11. Conduct market and competitive research to stay abreast of current market trends, and develops and implements marketing plans to address emerging trends and competitor threats.
12. Participate on cross-functional and multi-national team meetings to ensure collaboration and alignment needed to support successful plan execution and achievement of results.
Responsible for the direct management of 3-5 marketing professionals (i.e. Associate Product Managers, Product Manager, Sr.
Product Managers). Leads, coaches, challenges and develops direct reports. Recruits and hires new talent.
13. Strong foundation in Quality System Requirements. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with Quality System requirements and all other company policies and procedures.
Fully adhere to all aspects of Terumos Interaction with Healthcare Providers policy and AdvaMed guidelines. Establishes and promotes a work environment amongst co-workers and direct reports that supports compliance with the Quality System and Terumos policies.
14. Perform other job related duties as assigned
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- This position primarily exists in an office environment.
- Approximately 35% overnight travel is required, including International trips.
- This position is required to occasionally visit Territory Managers and accompany them on sales calls to customers. These visits may require entry to hospitals and other medical facilities.
Many facilities have instituted vendor credentialing policies which require vendors to meet defined training, background check and proof of immunization requirements as a condition of entry.
Terumo Associates entering these facilities are required to abide by these credentialing requirements.
Must be able to gain access to and work in the IR suite, Cath lab and operating room. Entry into these areas requires an ability to wear appropriate gowning, stand for long periods of time, comply with hospital policy / protocol and be aware of potential biohazards such as blood borne pathogens.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
- Position requires in-depth knowledge of the markets in which Terumos products compete.
- Ability to build and execute complex market strategies for current and future products.
- Must be able to make independent decisions and presentations to management for market strategies and product acceptance.
- Requires the ability to recognize and solve customer marketing issues and present products to market, so as to enhance sales and company profitability.
Qualifications / Background Experiences
Requires a Bachelors degree in business management or life sciences and 10-15 years of related work experience, including at least 5 years of product / market management experience.
MBA is preferred.
