REGISTERED NURSE - UTILIZATION MANAGEMENT
RN2, Utilization Management Specialist.
This is a hybrid position (partially remote; and partially on-site at Harborview).
This position will have partial / variable involvement with Harborview's Emergency Department.
The Utilization Management Specialist RN2 is responsible for the ongoing review of a designated group of patients through the use of approved indicators and medical criteria to ensure that standards of quality and appropriateness of inpatient hospital care is continually met.
The Specialist identifies the reason for admission, complications, and co-morbidities, and is responsible for reporting clinical information to multiple payers as required to obtain financial coverage for the patient and decreased financial risk for the hospital.
Through frequent communication with physicians and hospital staff, the Specialist is responsible for the resolution of quality, utilization, and / or risk issues which may arise during a patient’s stay.

Requirements :
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.
Minimum of three years professional nursing experience in an Acute Care setting.
Ability to work independently with demonstrated good judgment and problem solving skills.
Effective interpersonal, professional communication and computer skills.
Desired :
Utilization Management experience desirable.
