Job Description
Saint Mary's High School in Manhasset is seeking a Full-Time STEM focused Computer Science teacher to join its Science Department starting in the 2024 - 2025 school year.
The preferred candidate will have academic experience in Computer Science, STEM. or a related field. This position calls for a motivated individual with a desire to grow a computer science program with a STEM focus.
Each St. Mary's teacher is dedicated to developing the whole person in academics, the arts, athletics and a growing commitment to God and others.
The STEM Computer Science Teacher position is a full-time position with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following tasks :
Teach up to 5 sections of STEM / Computer Science and or related courses during the school year.
Ability to teach physics is a plus.
- Work collaboratively and be open to feedback on improving teaching.
- Participate in departmental and school-wide professional development initiatives.
- Participate in the extracurricular life of the school.
- Attend and contribute to grade level, faculty, and department meetings.
- Teach and lead students in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic church and the mission of St. Mary's High School
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, Masters preferred
- NYS teacher certification or currently working towards certification preferred
- Personal commitment to Catholic mission in education
