1. Primary responsible for the management of security personnel, on specific assigned duties and / or special assignments, on assigned shift.

2. Hires, motivates, trains, coaches, mentors, and directs staff to ensure that Team Members receive leadership, guidance,

and resources to accomplish established objectives.

3. Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for Team Members. Coaches,

mentors, and advocates for the team member as well as the company and is a hospitality champion.

4. Implements standardized training for all personnel on assigned shift.

5. Reviews the work activities of subordinate employees to ensure that work is being performed within the standards

established by management.

6. Directs Security personnel to specific assigned duties and / or special assignments as needed.

7. Responsible for the loss prevention functions of the gaming complex, including company assets on the gaming floor,

guest and employee security and safety on their shift.

8. Ensures all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the company and the regulators are firmly and fairly enforced.

9. Coordinates security and investigation efforts with outside law enforcement agencies to assure proper handling of

criminal violations of guests or team members.

10. Acts as a liaison to all departments on security measures, procedures, and needs.

11. Watchful for the identification of risks and threats to the safety and assets of the company, patrons, and employees.

12. Monitors emergency procedures to ensure prompt and safe handling of emergencies including but not limited to fire,

flood, or bomb threats.

13. Coordinates closely with surveillance to ensure security of guests, team members, and company assets, and compliance

with civil laws and company policies.

14. Assists with the establishment of department standards, guidelines, and objectives, and maintains other administrative

processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.

15. Attends and participates in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.

17. Assists with the implementation of systems to ensure compliance with federal, state and company rules and regulations.

18. Controls and maintains company-wide key controls throughout the property while on duty.

19. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.

20. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.

21. Other duties as assigned.

Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities : In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.

Position Qualifications :

Associate degree in criminal justice, or a closely related field plus two to three years of Gaming related experience or security experience working in a large, busy complex is preferred.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Strong oral and written skills, and a proficiency in Word and Excel are required.

Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations : Virginia Racing Commission License

Valid Driver’s License with minimum three (3) years’ driving experience

Supervisory Responsibilities : Manages subordinates who may supervise employees. Assists with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit(s).
