Job Overview

This is a hybrid role with the ability to work out of any of our office locations (San Jose, San Francisco, Monrovia, or San Diego).

This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Strong initiative and follow-through are essential. This role is required to develop design drawings using BIM tools including but not limited to CAD, Revit and BIM360, and will work with the production team in support of Engineers and Project Managers to develop drawings for low voltage, audio visual and security systems.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop electrical schematics and layouts using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Use Bluebeam to facilitate markups between team members.
• Utilize Ohmmeter for testing and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Implement quality assurance procedures during design process (e.g., Design Criteria submission, Design Checklists, Interdisciplinary Coordination Schedules, etc.).
• Check all technical work for accuracy. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into overall designs.
• Perform various calculations to determine sizing, quantities, and placement of various elements.
• Apply knowledge of NEC standards to ensure compliance in designs.
• Review documents from clients and / or sub-contractors that may include technology standards, submittals, and product spec sheets.
• Perform submittal reviews and insures accurate, timely response to all construction RFI's.
• May be required to visit project locations during construction to perform job walks for field verification and coordination and perform punch walks.
• Attend various project meetings as required.

Essential Requirements

• 3-7 years' experience working on Technology designs including but not limited to Low Voltage Cabling and Audio-Visual Systems.
• Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, BIM Tools, Wi-Fi Modeling Software.
• Working knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM360.
• Proficient in developing details, schedules, and maintaining Revit families and libraries.

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, and C++
• Familiarity with mechanical engineering concepts
• Experience with schematic design and interpretation
• Strong understanding of electrical principles and practices
