Responsibilities
The Human Resources Manager will :
- Manage complex employee relations issues and as needed, conducts effective, thorough and objective fact finding meetings
- Provide performance management guidance to site managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Provide compensation guidance to site managers (promotions, merit, adjustments, bonus)
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and maintenance of records, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Work closely with the Managers and the Talent Acquisition team to develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for the organization
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team or site leadership to proactively develop solutions
- Provide guidance and input on site organizational design, workforce strength and succession planning for key roles
- Manage site employee leave of absence and return to work process
- Develop and maintain progressive relationships with local union leadership and union committees
- Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements pertaining to wages, grievances, employee welfare, healthcare benefits, union and management practices
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Team to manage high volume hourly recruiting
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications :
- 7+ years of Human Resources and / or Labor Relations experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources and / or a related field
- Proven record of handling Union Grievances and participating in Arbitration and other Labor-related Proceedings, such as Contract Negotiations
- Experience with high volume full-cycle Talent Acquisition
- Working knowledge of multiple Human Resource disciplines, including Compensation practices, Organizational Diagnosis, Employee / Labor Relations, Diversity, Performance Management, and Federal / State Employment laws
- Knowledge of US Labor & Employment Laws
- Working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) systems
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Solid analytical, problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills :
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Advanced Degree in Labor Relations or Human Resources
- SHRM-CP / SCP or PHR / SPHR a plus
