Manufacturing Supervisor

Mayzon is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to head the PMD / PPW Department for 1st shift. Mayzon is a well-established company with offices in New York City, Montreal and New Castle, Delaware.

This position is based out of the New Castle, Delaware office.

Mayzon is a leading supplier of home fashions organizations, bathroom and household products such as shower curtains and rods, slipcovers, medicine cabinets and more.

Our products are offered in most major retail stores in the United States and Canada.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Manufacturing Supervisor will lead, direct, and oversee all activities within the Plastic Molding Department (PMD) and the Paint / Press / Weld Department (PPW) (1st Shift).

The ideal candidate will understand and perform daily job duties in a manner which supports the Company / Department SAFETY QUALITY PRODUCTION goals and objectives.

MAJOR TASKS RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the shift production and all processes assigned to the PMD department.

Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results;

coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Maintain staff by orienting and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities

Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment;

monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; working within in Mayzon standards and procedures to facilitate corrections to malfunctions within process control points

Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; executing the schedule based on the production priorities;

monitoring progress; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Audits product and employee output for quality ensuring specifications meet or exceed expectations.

Lead Safety Quality Production meetings at the beginning of shift

Manage employees’ time and attendance, including approving timesheets for payroll processing.

Manage labor in accordance with earned vs. worked direct labor efficiency goals set for the departments.

Work overtime as needed

Any assignment as directed per management within the scope of personal capabilities

INDIRECT TASKS

Perform housekeeping

Assist with Break coverage (as needed)

Work directly with process technician to learn Injection Molding Processes and Troubleshooting

Support new product / project planning and implementation within the department / facility

REQUIRED SKILLS

Demonstrate ability to write legibly, to maintain records, and follow oral and written instructions.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.

Understand basic computer programs.

Available to work overtime, including weekends and vacation coverages

Works according to priorities set by the PMD Manager.

Comply with the regulations and guidelines of conduct in place at Mayzon.

Meets the requirements of safety, hygiene and quality of Mayzon.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required

3+ years’ experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment

Injection molding experience preferred
