Job Description
Full Time : Monday -Friday (8 : 00am-4 : 30pm)
- Takes accurate patient medical history and vitals as requested.
- Arranges operative schedule, surgical assistants and special anesthesia needs as per physicians orders.
- Provides preoperative teaching to patients.
- Assists physician with procedures and treatments (aspirations, injections, wound treatments, dressing changes, etc.) reassuring patient during procedure.
- Evaluates traction or brace containment devices as necessary. Removes staples and sutures on all postoperative patients.
- Obtains required consents from patient.
- Documents accurately and timely in patients record, all treatment / procedures done and initials documentation.
- Prepares preoperative charts and obtains specific medical orders from internist when necessary.
- Checks for completion of preoperative orders, labs and medical evaluations. Informs physician of any patient problem / contradictions using appropriate judgment as to the urgency of the situation.
