Job Summary : Responsible for instructing and coaching of vocational training programs and all Project SEARCH models, as assigned.
In coordination with the Instructor, the Workforce Specialist provides training and support for student interns and host business mentors.
Facilitates the training and integration of a student with disabilities in a worksite internship and / or competitive work environment.
Identify student interns’ strengths, interests and abilities related to career counseling, job development, and placement at host businesses or a community employer.
Job development may occur with those successfully completing vocational programs. This includes making contact with, and building relationships with, community employers which leads to employment training opportunities or possible employment.
This contact will be made through telephone calls, face-to-face appointments and appropriate social media platforms with the employers.
Determine what supports and / or adaptations may be needed for training and successful employment.
Job Requirements : Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education or rehabilitative science or business or related degree, or in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent of two years of college and two years of documented direct experience with recipients with developmental disabilities, or one year of college and three years of documented direct experience with recipients with developmental disabilities.
Minimum of three years’ experience in business, education, or a social, behavioral, or rehabilitative science is preferred, particularly with individuals with disabilities.
