JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Releases and maintains engineering drawings and specifications
- Assesses requests for changes and deviations from vendors and plant
- Diagnoses and corrects deficiencies
- Provides technical direction to support personnel
- Coordinates test and / or development programs
- Coordinates engineering projects with other departments or vendors
- Maintains communication with vendors and / or customers on a regular basis
- Prepare technical data such as qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 3+ years" experience in product engineering
- Proficient in oral and written business communication
- Ability to generate clear and concise formal presentations
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult
- Deep understanding of engineering theory and principles of design
- Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment
- Understanding of powertrain system operation and components
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Experience with automatic transmission operation, clutches, gears, hydraulics, and controls (both hydraulic and electrical
- Familiarity with automotive powertrain industry manufacturing processes and technologies
