Overview
Systems Safety & Software Safety Engineer (Entry-Level, Associate, or Mid-Level) at Boeing. The role is located on Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Phantom Works / Air Dominance programs in Hazelwood or Berkeley, MO. The position is based onsite with opportunities across Entry Level, Associate, and Mid-Level experience.
Position Responsibilities
- Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
- Perform analyses and integration activities to optimize total system of systems architecture for Software Safety
- Identify, analyze, and assess regulatory and / or contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services against development and design assurance standards (MIL-STD-882E, JSSEH, DO-178, DO-254) to provide hazard mitigation evidence
- Analyze software to identify potential failure conditions or investigate in-service fleet hazards, risks, and safety concerns
- Identify safety issue root causes and recommend corrective actions using industry best practices (MIL STD-882E)
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate safety requirements
- Verify that the system meets defined safety requirements by conducting safety analyses, audits, and reviews
- Demonstrate safety hazard risk mitigation and control methods to customers and regulators
- Resolve multi-functional technical issues
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer sciencePreferred Qualifications (Desired)
