From your PASSION to ours

Summary : The role of CDL Yard Driver is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day activities of yard operations in order to provide a safe and effective way of transporting Lactalis products to and from our distribution centers.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include :

• Conduct movement of trailers in yard and to off-site storage local locations.
• Maintain adherence to all safety programs
• Support the truck maintenance schedule
• Perform and log yard tasks using the yard management system and in-cab tablets
• Support required yard audits to ensure that equipment is functioning properly and that product temperatures are maintained
• Demonstrate commitment to a safe working environment that promotes the health and wellbeing of all employees and that will further contribute to the Company’s overall performance and success.
• Travel and / or extended or off work hours may be required.

Requirements

From your STORY to ours

Qualified applicants will contribute the following :

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience in transportation and / or commercial driving (previous yard experience preferred)
• CDL-A license required
• Clean MVR (driving record) and ability to complete pre-hire DOT drug screening & DOT physical

Skills / Abilities

• Ability to climb in and out of a commercial vehicle and operate in a safe manner
• Ability to operate commercial vehicles, maneuvering at varying speeds and in difficult situations such as inclement weather or tight loading dock areas
• Working knowledge of refrigerated trailers and reefer operations preferred
• Availability to work a flexible schedule that can be up to 12 hours daily. Preferred flexibility to work either days, nights, including weekends

Salary Description $28.25 - $30.00 / hour
