Summary
Reporting to Corporate Sustainability Officer, this position will serve as the technical subject matter expert on existing and proposed Climate disclosures.
This role will be an integral part of the team responsible for GHG emissions reporting (Scope 1, 2 and 3) and climate data analysis at both the federal and state level.
The role will also assist with verification of emissions and sustainability reporting.
Role / Responsibilities
- Responsible for collecting, managing and improving First Horizon’s sustainability and climate data.
- Responsible for analyzing sustainability and climate data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and prepare internal and external reports.
- Coordinate with internal partners to develop additional capabilities and tools to identify, measure and monitor climate risks and opportunities.
- Play a critical role in the development and implementation of organization’s Scope 3 measurement and reporting.
- Coordinate the collection of GHG data; calculation of GHG emissions, evaluation, quality assurance, and reporting of GHG emission across all scopes.
- Maintains sustainability related documentation, policies, procedures and controls.
- Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders, data owners and third-party contractor(s) for collecting, calculating and evaluating GHG emissions across all scopes, including financed emissions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify, analyze and assess impact of climate risks and policies.
- Identify emerging climate-related issues, assessing gaps and providing recommendations to address them.
- Support GHG verification activities, emerging issues, climate and environmental risk assessments, and data inventory.
- Manages projects and schedules as necessary to meet regulatory deadlines.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum 3 years practical experience with greenhouse gas accounting, GHG protocol, relevant frameworks and climate-related regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of reporting frameworks (TCFD, CDP), Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) and emerging climate regulations including California SB253 & SB 261 and SEC Climate rule.
- GHG accounting certification (preferred)
- Banking experience preferred by not necessary
- Experience and knowledge of sustainability reporting software and data management systems.
- Experience with portfolio and climate scenario analysis.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience managing large groups of operational data at a detailed or summary level to support emission calculation and reporting
- Demonstrated sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are loosely defined and / or where information is available but must be further analyzed
Strong team orientation, demonstrating a high level of collaboration and cooperation within functional and cross-functional teams
