Job Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our internal Developer Relations (DevRel) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices, Cloud, and infrastructure as code, with a passion for helping developers be more productive and efficient.
This role will focus on enhancing developer experiences by advocating best practices, optimizing development workflows, owning and maintaining the developer toolchains, and ensuring seamless integration with our technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership and ManagementLead, mentor, and manage a team of developer advocates and engineersDevelop and execute strategies to enhance developer productivity and satisfactionCollaborate with cross-function teams to align developer needs with organization goals
- DevOps and Infrastructure : Serve as a bridge between internal developers and the technology teams, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are metCreate and maintain comprehensive content through documentation, tutorials, and guides to assist developersOrganize and lead workshops, training sessions, and tech talks to promote best practices and new technologies
- Productivity EnhancementIdentify and eliminate bottlenecks in the development processPromote the use of automation tools and practices to enhance developer efficiencyTrack and analyze developer productivity metrics to continuously improve processes and tools
- Community BuildingFoster a strong internal developer community through regular communication, feedback loops, and collaborationChampion the adoption of new tools and technologies that can benefit the developer communityAct as an evangelist for developer-centric initiatives and innovations
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years’ experience in DevOps, Cloud, Software Engineering, or a similar role
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial position
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for developer advocacy
- Proven track record of enhancing developer productivity and driving technological change
- Strong expertise of programming and scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Go, Python
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform and its services
- Solid understanding of CI / CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices
