Electrical Automation Technician
Location : Charleston, SC (Goose Creek area)
The position is a DuPont work schedule (rotating shifts, 14-15 days off per month, and 7 consecutive days off monthly). Paid overtime pay is time and a half.
A North American leader in their manufacturing niche is in search of an experienced Electrical Automation Technician at the facility located in Goose Creek, SC.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities :
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Inspect, maintain, repair low / medium voltage (
- Perform motor drive system preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on Siemens and Rockwell families of drive systems.
- Troubleshooting equipment using PLC interface for diagnostics.
- Assist in the installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment, as required; Assuring that all operations and utilities equipment complies with minimum Safety & Operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of equipment maintenance activities.
- Assists in writing and reviewing of operational and safety JSAs on plant Equipment; improves procedures and develops new JSA based on observations and experiences.
Requirements :
- Exhibit the Target Behaviors to support the department.
- Associate degree in electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology, Military-equivalent electronics training and certification, or high school diploma supplemented by 3+ years of electronic maintenance and repair experience.
- Must be able to perform all physical functions of working in a manufacturing environment such as, climbing, standing, bending, reaching, and squatting.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Working with and near electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment. Working in and on machines in a hot environment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, minimizing downtime and optimizing production processes.
- Familiar with the NFPA 70E / NEC safety requirements.

- Ability to read and interpret electronic / electrical drawings and specifications.
- Shift work and overtime required.
Preferred :
- One (1) to Three (3) years of work experience in a manufacturing environment with automation, calibrated instrumentation, electrical and mechanical repairs, and laptop to PLC interfaces.
- Knowledge of PLC logic, industrial automation & control systems, in-line measurement systems, hydraulics & pneumatics, etc.
- Able to systematically troubleshoot problems for highly technical equipment and instrumentation.
- Safely able to operate a forklift and aerial lift on occasion.
