Electro-Mechanical Automation Technician
Location : Charleston, SC (Goose Creek area)
The role follows a DuPont work schedule, which includes rotating shifts, approximately 14-15 days off per month, and 7 consecutive days off monthly.
A leading manufacturing company in North America is currently seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Automation Technician for their Goose Creek, SC facility.

Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity through preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair motor control systems for plant equipment operating at low to medium voltage (
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on motor drive systems, specifically Siemens and Rockwell families of drive systems.
- Utilize PLC interface for equipment diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Assist in the installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities.
- Assist in writing and reviewing operational and safety JSAs for plant equipment, improving procedures based on observations and experiences.
Requirements :
- Demonstrate the Target Behaviors necessary to support the department.
- Associate degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent electronics training and certification, or a high school diploma with 3+ years of electronic maintenance and repair experience.
- Capable of performing physical tasks in a manufacturing environment, such as climbing, standing, bending, reaching, and squatting.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Experience working with and near electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment, including hot environments.
- Skilled in diagnosing and repairing electrical malfunctions to minimize downtime and optimize production processes.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E / NEC safety requirements.
- Strong commitment to zero incident safety culture, teammate engagement, active teamwork, continuous improvement, and adherence to corporate Target Behaviors.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic / electrical drawings and specifications.
- Preferred :
- 1-3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment with automation, calibrated instrumentation, electrical and mechanical repairs, and laptop to PLC interfaces.
- Knowledge of PLC logic, industrial automation & control systems, in-line measurement systems, hydraulics & pneumatics, etc.
- Proficient in systematically troubleshooting problems for highly technical equipment and instrumentation.
- Safe operation of forklift and aerial lift on occasion.
