We are seeking a qualified candidate for this Controller opportunity with construction experience in a newly created role that will build a department and team.
This candidate will play a crucial role in selecting and implementing an ERP system and creating SOPs.
Key Responsibilities of the Controller :
- Manage and oversee the financial operations of a 40+ Million dollar construction company
- Work closely with project managers and senior management to provide accurate financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
- Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures to monitor project costs, revenue, and overall financial performance.
- Monitor and analyze project financial data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost-saving measures.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and financial statements for senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external auditors, lenders, and other financial institutions as needed.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial and accounting systems for the project.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and financial reporting requirements in Bermuda.
- Manage cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for the construction project.
- Provide financial guidance and support for decision-making processes related to the project.
- Oversee the financial team and coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment with project goals.
Preferred Qualifications of the Controller position :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or experience in Construction
- 3+ years of Construction accounting (POC, WIP. etc)
