Position Overview : We are looking for a skilled Physical Therapist to work within our school setting to assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs for students with a range of physical disabilities and challenges.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development and possess the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, strength, range of motion, and functional abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' physical therapy needs, including interventions to improve mobility, coordination, balance, and gross motor skills.
- Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in group settings, using evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate therapy goals into the student's educational program and daily routines.
- Monitor students' progress and adjust therapy interventions as needed, documenting outcomes and maintaining accurate records of therapy sessions and progress reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and coordinate services to support student goals.
- Provide consultation and training to school staff and parents on strategies and techniques to promote students' physical development and independence within the school environment.
Qualifications :
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
- Certification or licensure in school-based physical therapy (if applicable).
- Experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of physical disabilities and developmental delays.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physical therapy principles, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and other professionals.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and advocating for the unique needs of students with disabilities in the school setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced educational environment.
