Wage : $40- $55 per hour based on experience
Full Time : 40 -50 Hours per week
FLSA : Exempt
Working Hours :
Monday-Friday 7 : 00 am 3 : 30 p.m.
Occasional Saturdays on an as needed basis
Black Iron is seeking a full-time Field Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs and modifications on mechanical equipment.
Including diesel pickup trucks, hydro vac trucks, heavy construction equipment, semi-truck and trailers.
Description :
Inspect and repair diesel engines including semis, pick-up trucks, hydro vac trucks, and heavy construction equipment.
Handle routine repairs, including oil required services
Order parts, stock fluids, and other materials
Skill in computer diagnostics and electronic troubleshooting
Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans with estimated cost
Maintain fleet vehicle reports
Inspect all vehicles and equipment on a weekly basis
Communicate effectively with managers regarding the repairs needed or performed
Requirements :
- Must have 10 years verifiable experience in heavy duty trucking industry or similar field
- Must have own set of general tools
- Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
- Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
- Clean Driving Record
- Pass Certifiable Background Check and Drug Screening
Experience :
- Diesel Engine, Truck & Heavy Equipment Mechanics : 10 years (Preferred)
- Diesel engine repair : 10 years (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge : 10 years (Preferred)
Essential Qualities :
The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training

Strong work ethic and the ability to work with little supervision
