What you will do
In this vital role, as Executive Director, Functional Genomics, you will lead Amgen’s Functional Genomics group, focusing on target discovery and characterization through functional genomics, including genome manipulation tools, phenotypic screening, and multi-omics.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a group that delivers critical data regarding target discovery and biology through functional genomics, including CRISPR screening and advanced transcriptomics methods.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the research strategy to integrate functional genomics and human genetics.
- Implement new gene editing technologies to stay at the cutting edge of functional genomics.
- Develop effective cross-functional relationships with colleagues in various therapeutic areas.
- Lead the Research Technologies department focused on progressing our small and large molecule pipeline.
What we expect of you
The candidate we seek is an experienced leader with the following qualifications :
Basic Qualifications :
- Doctorate degree & 6 years of technology experience OR
- Master’s degree & 10 years of technology experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of technology experience AND
- 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people.
Preferred Qualifications :
- A proven track record of scientific innovation in functional genomics.
- A deep understanding of CRISPR screening and gene editing technology.
- Experience in phenotypic screening.
- Strong written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in leading and developing a diverse team.
What you can expect of us
The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $271,118-$322,291. In addition to the base salary, Amgen offers a Total Rewards Plan comprising health and welfare plans, financial plans, and career development opportunities.
