Position Summary
The Production Manager, 2nd shift serves as a key member of the Production leadership team, overseeing and optimizing the execution of the production process for Tribe 9.
The Production Manager should have the ability to make the complex simple in both words and deeds by streamlining communications and production processes.
He / She should have a strategic and hands-on mindset thinking two steps ahead while having an action-oriented disposition that achieves results.
Beyond the stated skills and qualifications, the successful candidate will be naturally curious and have the demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities;
articulate and convey thoughts and ideas to multiple audiences and exude a keen sense of ownership for operations and results.
The hours are 3 : 00 pm 12am, Monday through Friday. Weekend work as needed will be required. The Production Manager is expected to be at Tribe 9 Foods before the shift starts to ensure an efficient start-up.
Salary Range :
$60,000 - $70,000 annually
Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties will include :
- Produce high-quality, safe food efficiently through the collaboration of Management, Line Leaders, Production Staff, and other Departments throughout the company.
- Overseeing the production personnel's training and performance on the facility floor.
- Assist in hiring, promoting, and placing staff members in the most effective positions.
- Setting up lines and supporting them throughout the day.
- Verifying that lot and batch numbers are properly recorded on all forms.
- Assisting the production staff with issues / problems that arise during the day.
- Communicating key issues / problems on the production floor with the Management Staff.
- Ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Standards.
- Promoting a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Collaborating with the operations in developing goals for the production staff.
- Assisting with the evaluation of the production staff.
- Working with the Shipping and Receiving department as needed.
- Interpreting and enforcing company policies on the production staff.
- Planning and implementing weekly production schedules.
- To follow and ensure employees are continuously practicing proper GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety protocols.
- This position is also called upon to perform other duties not specifically outlined by this job description.
Job Requirements
Specific qualifications for the role include :
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, production lines, and equipment.
- Exposure to food processing systems, including high-speed production lines.
- Prior experience writing manufacturing SOP's (standard operating procedures).
- Strong project management skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Strong analytic and strategic planning skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours as required.
- A willingness to travel occasionally as required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolonged periods; frequently walks, grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects;
occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling products, computers, or machinery.
The employee is subject to assistance and support up to 50 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on an as-needed basis.
The employee must have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and be able to operate the equipment. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and non-moving mechanical parts.
The employee could have work conditions that are extremely cold or extremely hot. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
