Waste Water Technician

SUMMARY : While working under the supervision of the Utility Manager candidate would be responsible for performing daily wastewater duties and assist maintenance when needed.

Must be a team player, willing to learn, take initiative, and pride in their work. We are looking for someone who needs little supervision and has the ambition to learn and grow with our company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Daily Punctuality and Attendance are a Must.
• Perform work in a safe and efficient manner
• Able to adhere to all company policies, plant rules and regulations, and safety rules detailed in the employee handbook
• Comply with all Federal, State, and Local Laws, OSHA
• Follow oral and written instructions
• Maintain records for internal and external use
• Ability to use basic hand tools
• Repair and maintain wastewater equipment, motors, pumps, valves, piping, and general building maintenance.
• Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance requirements
• Observe and adjust chemical usage based on testing done to wastewater
• Light troubleshooting of electrical
• Troubleshoot pneumatic valves, mechanical seals / gaskets, chains, belts, sprockets, gears, bearings, pumps, fans, and building upkeep and general maintenance.
• Able to read and utilize equipment manuals for repairs and maintenance
• Must be able to perform duties requiring overhead work, use of ladders, inside and outside, hot and cold environments, noisy
• Tasks in plumbing, carpentry, and pipefitting
• Perform other related and unrelated duties

QUALIFICATIONS :

• One-year certificate from college or technical school, six months to one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic welding and fabrication are a plus
• Forklift operation and safety

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Work is performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
