Role Summary :

The Sr Manager, Audit Programs is responsible for balancing the strategic priorities while ensuring tactical execution for quality assurance and audit programs for Alaska Air Group’s (AAG) operating divisions.

As a people leader, the Sr Manager, Audit Programs leads and establishes priorities for the team by developing audit approaches, identifying and auditing process risks, assessing operational performance and compliance, monitoring emerging risks, and maintaining rigorous standards of audit methodology.

Key Duties :

  • Establish strategic goals and direction for Honolulu-based Quality Assurance team (in close coordination with Seattle team) with a 12+ month horizon, focused on innovation and progressive audit and oversight approaches.
  • Assess team and auditor developmental needs while identifying training solutions to develop auditors that are fact finders, risk-focused, willing to seek solutions, and unwavering in matters of compliance and safety.
  • Leads highly complex safety and risk management activities for Alaska Air Group (AAG) and its subsidiaries.
  • Partners with Audit Programs leadership and key stakeholders to facilitate risk assessments to support a risk-based audit.
  • Ensures all audits are executed with safety, quality and compliance at the forefront and remains focused on continuous improvement to strengthen the Company’s processes, and controls.
  • Guides teams in delivering high quality audit reports and monitoring dashboards, working closely with company management to collaboratively develop actionable plans to address the root cause of audit findings.
  • Prepare formal written reports, backed by adequate evidence, to support audit conclusions on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems.
  • Evaluate the corrective actions taken by management to ensure findings are effectively addressed and resolved and oversee tracking, assessment, and resolution of corrective actions by auditors within audit database.
  • Develops QA data collection and reporting strategy and oversees execution of work by data analyst.
  • Promotes a high-performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct / indirect reports through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills :

Required :

  • 7 years of experience in business or operational process auditing, or equivalent in operational or audit leadership.
  • 4 years of leadership experience, with at least some of this experience directly leading people. Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training / experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred :

  • Proven ability to quickly understand complex processes, effectively scope assessments, and lead high energy, success-oriented teams.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, process-driven, and a strong safety advocate.
  • Excellent communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) and interpersonal skills.
  • Aviation, safety program management or Safety Management Systems (SMS) experience.
  • Auditor certification or training (e.g., Certified Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), ISO Quality Auditor).

Salary Range :

$128,700 - $199,500 / year

Salary Details : Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience / level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska / Horizon employees.

Note : We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
